Introducing: Sunday Fit Prep
Your cheat sheet to a week of outfits you don't have to think about.
It’s late Sunday evening. The weekend is a wrap, the dishes are done, the kids are heading to bed… and it’s finally MY TIME.
For years I’ve been doing this little thing called Fit Prep for myself.
I learned it from stylists I’ve worked with, some of whom have become friends. Here’s how it works: you tell your stylist everything you have coming up …the events, sure, but also all the in-between. The meetings, the casual moments, the every day. Their job is to look at your calendar and build looks around it. You try them on together, and they’ll take a Polaroid of each one, put them in order, staple it to the accessories bag. This day, this thing, this outfit.
Twenty years ago, pre-social media, I was an aspiring stylist myself. So I learned early that it matters to look good, but it matters just as much not to fret about it on the day of.
You know the moment. Standing in front of your closet asking the same damn question: “What am I going to wear?”And then either reaching for something you’ve already worn (which I’m not against at all, I love repeating an outfit, just not head to toe; give it a little spin every time) or reaching for something questionable that you regret the second you walk out the door, and then it consumes you all day.
A good outfit is powerful. Yes, I know , “Chriselle, it’s not saving lives.” But there’s a power there that cannot be denied. It’s the spark of creativity. The confidence to pitch the unlikely idea to your boss. And the compliments…. look, we don’t dress for other people, but you cannot tell me a few good compliments doesn’t get you feeling some type of way.
I do love a good last-minute outfit. But the odds of it landing the way I want? 50/50. And I’m a fashion girl. I know my stuff.
So I started Sunday Night Fit Prep: I look at my week and lay out a skeleton of what I want to wear, then build from there. It doesn’t lock me in… I still change things last minute all the time. But the hard part is already done. The foundation is laid.
And now I’m sharing it with you.
How it works
Every Sunday morning, FIT PREP lands in your inbox - so by that evening, you have a guideline for the week ahead.
Take what you want, leave what doesn’t. Where I have to be Monday through Sunday looks different than where you have to be, so adapt it and make it your own. You don’t have to wear the look head to toe - let it guide you. But hey, if you do go head to toe, I’d be flattered.
Mostly, I hope this is a way to turn your brain off for once. We do far too much during the week. This is one less thing.
People food prep for the week. I Fit Prep for the week.
One more thing
Fit Preps are free until August. After that, paid subscribers only… so if you haven’t subscribed, now’s the time!
With that said…here is this weeks FIT PREP!
MONDAY
Where I’m going: School drop-off, straight into meetings with the team. Getting organized, getting back into the work week.
The vibe: Casual, cool, I’m ready, I got this. Professional but still relaxed.
The look
Bottom: Eaves (on sale)
Shoe: Maison Margiela Tabi satin pink (almost sold out)
Bag: Bottega Veneta Cabat small (lifetime warranty)
Jewelry: Hunting Season necklace
Style tip: I love pairing oversized with oversized - there’s a statement in it. I don’t tuck anything in. I just let it be oversized, and I only button one button so you get a peek of skin. That effortless thing where you catch a little bit of the bralette underneath… it’s sexy in a very androgynous way. There are a lot of incredible button-ups out there for a fraction of this price, but the devil is in the details: I love the boxiness and the stiffness of this particular shirt, and I love that it’s much longer in the back, so I always have the option of wearing it as a dress with a pair of flats.Style Alternative:
TUESDAY
Where I’m going: School drop-off, straight to the office for my marketing, leadership, and creative meetings.
The vibe: Business casual. Cool, effortless, sophisticated.
The look
Top: The Chriselle Tee with detachable chiffon scarf (coming soon)
Bottom: Eaves
Shoe: YSL Babylone heels (almost sold out)
Outerwear: Khaite
Bag: Bottega Veneta
Sunglasses: Phoebe Philo
Style tip: Adding a chiffon scarf to any classic tee will instantly change the vibe … it takes a casual T into something sophisticated and well thought out. Anytime a look feels a little boring to me, I add a silk or chiffon scarf.
WEDNESDAY
Where I’m going: Working from home - creating content, writing, Substacking.
The vibe: Effortless and easy. The key is not letting it tip into lazy just because I’m home, so I look for one-pieces that are simple to throw on.
The look
Dress: Issey Miyake Pleats Please
Outerwear: Issey Miyake Pleats Please
Jewelry: Hunting Season necklace
Style tip: When you’re working from home, the whole game is finding pieces that make you feel elevated and put together while being just as comfortable as what you’d otherwise be lounging in. There aren’t many of them … maybe that’s why I keep coming back to this dress. Issey Miyake’s Pleats Please line is as comfortable as it is intricate.
THURSDAY
Where I’m going: On set shooting a campaign- creative directing.
The vibe: Minimal, sleek, chic. I almost always wear all black on set. It lets me focus on the talent and the product, and it’s undeniably cool.
The look
Top: The Chriselle Tee in black, crew neck, with detachable chiffon scarf ( coming soon)
Bottom: Superdown (under $100)
Shoe: Maison Margiela tabis ( almost sold out)
Bag: Bottega Veneta Cabat
Style tip: All-black looks are my favorite kind of look, and my favorite way to break them is a pop of color in the shoe and the bag. And again a scarf instantly elevates a classic tee. This one on the Chriselle T is a detachable scarf so I love playing with it by tying it around my waist as a belt.
FRIDAY
Where I’m going: A beauty event, then date night after.
The vibe: Effortlessly sexy, without trying too hard. A unique cut that photographs well but is still easy to wear all evening.
The look
Shoe: Gianvito Rossi (on sale)
Bag: Chanel
Sunglasses: Phoebe Philo
Style tip: Finding interesting dresses is so hard for me .. they’re either too dressy or too casual, the kind of thing you’d throw on at the beach. I love that this one can go either way. I pushed it casual with a pair of woven thonged heels, but you could just as easily do black stilettos and put your hair up and it becomes a completely different dress. I am OBSESSED with this dress. Like, obsessed. The cutout on the side is somehow done in the most elegant, flattering way … it makes my waist look super curved. It looks so much better on than it does on the hanger.
SATURDAY
Where I’m going: The barn. My daughter practically lives there on weekends- she has to practice.
The vibe: Casual mom day off. Simple denim and a white tee, with a little stylized western flair from the suede jacket and the headband.
The look
Jacket: Alexa Chung for Madewell ( sold out but similar one HERE)
Top: The Chriselle Tee in white (coming soon)
Bottom: Celine jeans
Belt: The Frankie Shop
Purse: Calvin Klein Collection Aurelis Shoulder Bag
Style tip: My weekend formula is jeans and a white tee- this one is the Chriselle Tee, but I took the detachable scarf off. Adding a suede element is what gives it that lived-in feel.
SUNDAY
Where I’m going: Brunch with the family.
The vibe: Effortless but still put together. Sunday best- just keep it easy.
The look
Dress: Lemaire (on sale)
Shoe: Gianvito Rossi ( on sale)
Bangle: Ben Amun
Style tip: Woven textures and thick, chunky bangles will instantly take a look somewhere more vacation. I ran it through the accessories and the shoes here.
And that’s the very first FIT PREP.
Now the hard part is done … for me and, I hope, for you. Take what works, leave what doesn’t, and remember this is a skeleton, not a rulebook. Swap the heel for a flat. Lose the scarf. Wear Thursday’s look on a Tuesday. The whole point is that you’re not standing in front of your closet at 7am negotiating with yourself. If you know someone that has ever wanted their own stylist or a cheat sheet make sure to share this post with them!
If any of these gave you an idea, or if you end up adapting one - I want to see it. Tag me, leave a comment, send me the mirror selfie. I’ll be reposting my faves and commenting on all of them! xo
Have a chic week! Brain off. 🤍
xo, Chriselle
