This video of me blowing out my divorce cake went viral. It was almost two years after I had actually filed before I finally got to sign the papers.
And let me tell you—that moment was worth celebrating.
Divorces are long, grueling, and one hell of a ride. Imagine the worst roller coaster you’ve ever been on—loops, twists, turns—except you’re stuck on it for years. Ugh. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
Lately, I’ve noticed a wave of women going through something similar. Women in their 30s and 40s experiencing what some call a “midlife crisis.” But I refuse to call it that. It’s not a crisis—it’s an awakening.
These women are realizing they’ve been working their asses off, running on empty, feeling unfulfilled, unsatisfied, and unwilling to keep living the way they always have—because it’s just not worth it. And you know what? Many of them are buying themselves a divorce cake too. And they’re proud of it. Because this isn’t something to be ashamed of.
It’s a badge of honor. It’s proof that I finally chose myself.
